For Father’s Day? Just… peace, please.

Peace for Father’s Day

Back in Palo Alto from a short trip to the Montreal for Comic Arts Festival, I get back to work on my next projet: A new comic book of about 100 episodes of the Stairway Stories series. The book should be ready by the end of the year.  Meanwhile, since tomorrow is Father’s Day, here are the first two panels of a story on this topic.

Doudou’s teacher asked her little students to question their fathers about what they would like for Father’s Day. Louise’s dad wishes something that is difficult for her to share with the class. It will delight her teacher but make Doudou and Marion suspicious.

Stairway Stories. Back to School!

Back to School? So soon?

(Pour la version française, cliquer ici)

Back to school time always comes too quickly for children. Even though, back in the 1950s, in Québec, kids went back to school only after LabourDay, in early September, Doudou and her friends are not happy about going back to school while they’re still enjoying the beautiful summer days!  Like all the other kids in public schools, they have to put on their school uniforms and walk to a brand new school year. They would rather keep playing…

Happy Mother’s Day!

This year, two stories for Mother’s Day.

What should we drink on Mother’s Day?

First, a story from my blog Une année sans alcool (A year without a drink). Catherine  realizes that mothers are allowed to scold their daughter no matter how old this one is.

Happy Easter!

Stairway Stories.

My best wishes for a Happy Easter. This comic is based on a childhood memory. Our Easter baskets were nice but small. Our neighbors, though, often had those giant chocolate rabbits for Easter. All the neighborhood kids were quite impressed and… envious. My mother used to say that the chocolate in those giant rabbits could not be great quality chocolate and that we were better off with our small ones. Still, a giant chocolate rabbit! Wow!

Saint-Patrick’s Day Video Card!

Happy Saint-Patrick’s Day to all my Irish friends!

Doudou’s grandmother is Irish. So, her little friends (from the comic book series Stairway Stories) decide to go downtown with her to see the famous Montreal Saint-Patrick’s Day Parade! However, it’s still cold and snowy, it’s still the middle of winter, and Danny’s little brother has a very limited experience of parades. No wonder he gets a little bit confused about the theme of this Irish celebration…

I like doing something special for Saint-Patrick’s Day. If you want to have a look at my comic page from last year, in which Doudou is wondering how someone is supposed to have a celebration in the middle of lent, please, click here !

Happy Saint-Patrick’s Day everybody!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all of you!

I have a feeling 2014 will be a wonderful! year! Don’t waste any time. Start enjoying it right now!

What are you waiting for? It"s a brand new year!

Christmas Card and a video for a Nativity Scene

Christmas Card 2013

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Montreal 1958. The children from the series Stairway Stories decide to create a Nativity Scene. Because it is set under their stairways,  Doudou and Danny will be Mary and Joseph. Danny’s little brother all bundled up will be Little Baby Jesus. His cousin, the remarkable Michel, will be the only King. Marion, Doudou’s best friend is happy to be a shepherd. Louise, the enemy-friend insisted to be the glorious angel, dominating the scene. All the children are taking this game very seriously. However, some of them did not forget to prepare for what could follow. When there’s a fresh blanket of good snow, you never know what might happen.
